ACTIVITIES:

  1. Review the vocabulary words. Listen to the Vocabulary File for pronunciation. Look up the meaning of any words you don’t know.
  2. Listen to Audio 1 as you read through the story.
  3. Listen to Audio 2 – Story with Questions as you read through the story and answer the questions.
  4. Review:
    • Greetings: How are you? etc…
    • Review all of the questions they have learned so far.
    • Continue to get to know your students more.
  5. Retell the story through pictures. Have the students draw with you.
  6. If there is extra time, play a game: Heads Up 5 Up.  Have 9 students come forward to “be” the vocabulary words from the stories.  The rest of the students remain seated and put their heads down. Have the students that are the vocabulary words each touch a seated student, and then quickly return to the front of the room. Seated students must keep their heads down until everyone has returned to the front of the room. Then the seated students can lift their heads and guess who touched them by saying one vocabulary word.  If they guess correctly, they get to change places with that person. Continue playing and practicing vocabulary words.
  7. Have a student pray in English.
