911 Worship Music Academy
The 911 Worship Music School is designed to provide free, Christ-centered music classes to at-risk youth ages 12-16. We currently teach Guitar, Percussion, Voice, and Music Theory. In the future, we plan to add Piano, Bass Guitar, Trumpet, and Trombone.
The goal of the 911 Worship Music Academy is to reach entire families with the practical Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Academy is closely tied to our 911 Worship Room, with the goal of raising up worshippers for Him. The weekly lessons begin with a group devotional for the students, and the parents are required to come to weekly parenting classes run by our Psychologist.
These classes allow us to get to know the family and speak into their lives on many levels. We maintain and grow this connection with the families through regular visits to their homes to check in and see how everybody in the family is doing, what their needs are, etc.
There is a student performance for all of the families and other students at the end of each 8-week session. Our ultimate goal is to create worshippers with a “first-love” heart for Jesus. At the same time, we are meeting a very real need for free music classes in a neighborhood where there are no free music classes, or long waiting lists to get into the government program.
