Testimony and
IMPACT
We received a wonderful team from The Well in Maryville, TN.
Colombia is in revival, and God moved mightily in and through the team.
Their powerful testimonies are included below to encourage you of God's love and healing power, and also testify to the benefit short-term missions teams can bring to a ministry!
CHRISTIAN
What stayed with me most was encountering God’s love in a deeper, almost tangible way. Through serving in Medellín, I saw His compassion poured out over people, teams, and even my own heart. The experience reshaped how I understand discipleship, service, and what it means to love people like Jesus—and it became one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.
ADRIENNE
What impacted me most was visiting the Bronx, a place marked by addiction and brokenness. After 7.5 years clean, I was able to meet people right where they were and show them that Jesus does the same. That moment reminded me how far God has brought me—and showed me a deeper level of what He can do through my story.
KELI
I came to Colombia expecting to give, but instead I was deeply poured into. What impacted me most was seeing how 911 Life reflects the Father’s love through patience, gentleness, and genuine acceptance. I had been asking God how to reach people the way Jesus did, and this trip gave me a clear answer: love first, and let everything else flow from there.
JESSIE
What stayed with me most was the love that seemed to follow us everywhere—from Hope House to the neighborhood and even into the Bronx. I was struck by how many people asked us to pray for their families, and by the unexpected peace I felt when worship began in such a difficult place. Even the hospitality reflected that same care; we felt deeply welcomed, provided for, and loved in every detail.
CURRENT
CHALLENGES
Scarred by decades of armed conflict and mass displacement, the city still wrestles with deep‑rooted poverty and violence.
In many neighborhoods, drug abuse, prostitution and human‑trafficking persist, especially affecting youth, women and children.
The recent influx of about 2.9 million Venezuelan refugees, many fleeing in desperation, has added further pressure to housing, services and social cohesion.
ABOUT
The city and its people
Located nearly 5,000 feet above sea level and less than 500 miles from the equator, Medellín, Colombia, is known as the “City of Eternal Spring.” With year-round temperatures typically ranging from 70 to 85°F, it enjoys one of the world’s most pleasant climates. Yet behind its natural beauty and urban innovation, many residents face serious social challenges and significant hardships.
The people are known for their warmth, joy, and generosity. Colombians open their doors with a smile and gladly share what they have, even in difficult times. They have learned to rise again and again—to believe that a new opportunity is always possible and to draw on their faith and community for the strength to keep moving forward.
