INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 1 – Lesson 10 for Teachers

LESSON 10: LISTEN AND RESPOND

THEME: Loneliness

VOCABULARY: shared, comfort, church, struggles, loneliness, hunger, refuge, strength, ever-present, trouble

STORY: There is a boy. His name is James. He is 13 years old. James struggles with loneliness. His friend Paul shared some verses from the Bible with him, and that comforted him for a while. Eventually, James realized that he was hungry to learn more about God. One day, his friend Paul invited James to go to church. James really wanted to go. He knew that this man Jesus could bring him even more comfort and a peace he never felt before. James started going to church regularly with Paul.  He started to learn more about Jesus. He learned how Jesus went around and performed many miracles. He learned how Jesus could forgive us for our sins. As he learned more and more about Jesus, he knew that he wanted to learn more and have Jesus with him forever. Jeremiah 29:13 says, “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” James continued to go to church with Paul every Sunday. James slowly began to heal from his loneliness. He was finding comfort and strength in the Lord. Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” As James became closer to God he knew it was time to take the step to commit his life to Christ. He wanted to declare to the Lord that he wanted to know more and live in a new way. One Sunday, he finally gave his life to the Lord.
